We wondered if they were ever going to emerge, and here they are. They're making a LOT of noise. My husband was startled when one landed on the back of his neck. Fortunately, it flew off immediately.
Cool and a bit daunting/creepy at the same time. I am hoping ours are not too numerous......

It's the noise that becomes unnerving.
ReplyDeleteI have seen a lot of photos of cicadas posted by friends in our area (Maryland), but I have never see so many carcasses. Maybe they can come up with cicada carcass cereal, nice and crunchy with berries and milk! I wonder if Mabel has any interest in them. Not thinking she does.
