Mom died peacefully at Capital Hospice in Arlington, VA yesterday afternoon. We sat at her bedside Friday night, told her we loved her, said our good-byes. We think she knew we were there. We are deeply grateful to the staff and volunteers at Capital Hospice for the loving care they gave her in her final hours.
Rest eternal grant to her, O Lord:
And let light perpetual shine upon her.
Forsythia,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother.
You took such wonderful care of her. She was so fortunate that she was able to stay with you for so long.
Please know that your blogger friend in CT is thinking of you and praying for you and your family during this difficult time.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I was remembering your mom in prayer and asking the Lord to do what was best for her.
ReplyDeleteNow I will pray for your comfort.
Thank you, Lena and Ruth. My husband and I are full of gratitude today for having had her in our lives. It wasn't always easy, but we were blesssed nonetheless. Today we feel tired but peaceful, knowing that she is finally at home.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear of your loss and I, too, will pray for comfort for you and yours. I hope you continue to write about her and her experiences. Blessings ~
ReplyDeleteOh Forsythia...words cannot express how sorry I am to hear that news. Please forgive me for not being aware as I haven't been reading many blogs since I started school.
ReplyDeleteYou were a wonderful daughter to her and you were both a blessing to each other. Rest assure, she is in heaven, yelling down at you to do things the way she liked them. God grant you and your family comfort and peace. I'll keep in better touch with your life, I care about you very much.
God Bless.

I'm sorry for your loss. You were a great daughter, and cared lovingly for her. I believe she is in a better place where there is no pain, and her memory and mind are restored.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will feel her presence guiding your hand as you do your daily chores.
I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. You did a wonderful job taking care of her. She leaves you--and us--with lots of memories, happy and sad.
ReplyDeleteYour family is in my thoughts tonight.
I just stopped by to tell you I'm thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tory, Val, and Eric for your thoughts and prayers. We know that Mom is in a happier place right now. Phil and I have been feeling unaccountably tired this week, despite lots of rest. I guess we had been running on adrenaline for the past 2-3 weeks. Five days ago all I wanted to do for the next week or so was hibernate, but I think we will venture out to the Christmas Eve Holy Eucharist at our church. Merry Christmas to all.
ReplyDeleteAnd Ruth, too!
ReplyDeleteForsythia, Just wanted to stop by and see how you're doing. Of course you would be exhausted, you've been through so much. Remember to take care of yourselves at this time. You don't want to get yourself sick. Go to your Chrismas Service in Honour of your beautiful mother and rest in the arms of the Lord. He will keep you in the palm of His hand all through this.
ReplyDeleteLove
Tory
