The Worst Day of My Life

As a teen-ager, our older daughter used to frequently moan, "This is the worst day of my life!" Today it's my turn. The whole family has come down with norovirus, so we are awash in---never mind. I have chills and a pounding headache.

So far, Mom hasn't caught the bug. Knock on wood. It's a dangerous illness for infants and the elderly, because of dehydration. As if this weren't enough, I took Mom to the dentist yesterday because she was complaining of pain. Looks like she has an abcessed tooth. She's scheduled for a root canal on Monday.

  1. Oh dear! I hope you all feel better soon.

Good luck to your mom with her root canal. You all are in my thoughts and prayers as well!

  2. oh my goodness....that nasty virus has been making the rounds. I hope you're over it now or at least the worst of it. I sincerely hope that it misses me. My granddaughter caught it from school and I have made sure to stay away from their family. But a lot of people at my workplace have come down with it, so it just depends on luck and how often I wash my hands...(very often). You'd think they would come up with a shot to keep this at bay.
Your poor mom...root canals are not fun! I think I would have just opted to have it pulled at her age.

  3. I am really sorry to hear about this. Praying for you all and praying your mother doesnt catch it as I am sure it would be even harder on her.

  4. Thank you, everyone, for your comments and concern. Looks like we made it through the week without Mom catching the nasty norovirus. The root canal for a frail 99-year-old still has me (and a lot of other folks) worried. She has an appointment with the "root doctor" tomorrow, and believe me, I will raise all kinds of questions about this. How about antibiotics? What about extraction?
